At Phil Petter, virtually every sweater is pre-washed before production. This reduces shrinkage and makes the garment easier to care for. We therefore recommend the following washing instructions:

Care
Basics for the care of knitwear
Fine, high-quality sweaters should also be cared for with the appropriate care. By regularly airing them out on a suitable hanger, you can delay washing them, because washing them too often is not necessary, especially with wool, and is also not good for the fibers.

The washing.
We wash almost all knitted items before they are made. The reason for this is that shrinkage is prevented. This is a huge advantage for the end consumer. In our in-house laundry, we only wash with vinegar, which is a completely natural, environmentally friendly method. Vinegar softens the water in Vorarlberg, which is quite calcareous, and fixes the color. The high-quality fibers we use do not require any artificial softeners or other chemical additives. You never have to wash a Phil Petter product before wearing it for the first time, because our knitted items are completely free of chemicals.
How do you wash your Phil Petter?
-
Turn the garment inside out!
-
Always wash knitwear separately!
-
Use a large laundry bag to avoid possible damage from the washing machine!
-
Merino wool/cashmere/alpaca/merino stretch only cold wash on the wool cycle with liquid wool or cashmere detergent
-
Cotton/cotton stretch/linen/viscose 30° - Wash on a delicate cycle with liquid detergent
-
Viscose stretch jersey 30 ° - Wash on a delicate cycle with liquid detergent
-
Only a short spin cycle in the machine at low speed.
-
Never tumble dry knitwear and jersey!
-
Afterwards, do not wring out the garment but gently squeeze it on a towel.
-
Place the garment in the correct shape, stretch it slightly into its original shape if necessary, and let it dry lying on a towel.
-
Do not let knitwear dry on a clothesline or on the radiator!
-
Jerseys can be dried on a suitable hanger after washing!
-
Iron only on the wrong side of the fabric with steam and, if possible, without touching the fabric.
Of course, every Phil Petter garment can also be dry cleaned.
